International Student (CRICOS) Information

International Students SLSNSW is not a registered Commonwealth Register of Institutions and Courses for Overseas Students (CRICOS) provider and therefore we are unable to offer courses to international students studying in Australia on student visas except for the exempt courses outlined in Education Services for Overseas Students (Exempt Courses) Instrument 2021.

This exemption applies to the following short courses offered by SLSNSW:

  1. HLTAID009 Provide cardiopulmonary resuscitation
  2. HLTAID010 Provide basic emergency life support
  3. HLTAID011 Provide First Aid
  4. HLTAID012 Provide First Aid in an education and care setting
  5. HLTAID013 Provide First Aid in remote or isolated site
  6. HLTAID014 Provide Advanced First Aid
  7. HLTAID015 Provide advanced resuscitation and oxygen therapy
  8. HLTAID016 Manage first aid services and resources

An overseas student is defined in Section 5 of the Education Services for Overseas Students Act 2000 as a person (whether inside or outside Australia) who holds a student visa (as defined in regulation 1.03 of the Migration Regulations 1994), excluding:

• a Subclass 576 (Foreign Affairs and Defence Sector) visa, or • a person who satisfies the secondary criteria, but not the primary criteria, under the Migration Regulations 1994 for the grant of the visa, or • a secondary exchange student within the meaning of the Migration Regulations 1994, or • an overseas student who has been approved under a scholarship scheme, or an exchange scheme, sponsored by the Commonwealth to undertake a course of study or training in Australia.
