Course Description
The Mental Health First Aid - Standard 2 Day Course teaches adults (18 years and over) how to provide initial support to adults who are developing a mental illness or experiencing a mental health crisis. The course curriculum is based on the Mental Health Guidelines and is accredited by Mental Health First Aid Australia.
The Standard Mental Health First Aid course will teach you how to provide initial support to other adults who may be experiencing a mental health problem or mental health crisis until appropriate professional help is received or the crisis resolves, using a practical, evidence based Action Plan. This course is based on guidelines developed through the expert consensus of people with lived experience of mental health problems and professionals.

Duration
The duration of the course is approximately 12 hours / 2 days.
Entry Requirements
Any interested adult can attend. Participants must be a minimum of 18 years of age.
Assessment
There is no assessment process for this course, but participants can opt for Mental Health First Aider Accreditation through Mental Health First Aid Australia.
Certification
Course participants receive a copy of the Standard MHFA Manual, information guides and handouts, and a Certificate of Completion.
